Jamie Lynn Spears Shares Ash Wednesday Photo With Daughter Maddie Three Weeks After Accident

Jamie Lynn Spears continues to feel grateful for every passing day since her daughter Maddie’s horrific ATV accident.

It has been more than three weeks since her daughter was hospitalized and the family appears to be getting back into the swing of things.

Britney Spears‘ younger sister shared a selfie with her daughter and mother on Instagram celebrating Ash Wednesday.

Jamie Lynn shared a photo with her mom, Lynne Spears, and daughter after they attended a Catholic church and received their ashes on Wednesday, March 1. 

“#AshWednesday,” she captioned the sweet photo. “#GodIsGood.”

The country singer’s latest post comes almost a month after Maddie’s ATV flipped over into a pond and was submerged for a few minutes. Maddie was airlifted to the nearest hospital and was under doctor’s care for a week.

After she was released from the hospital, Jamie Lynn shared a photo with her daughter and husband, Jamie Watson, on a helipad at the Children’s Hospital in New Orleans.

Spears thanked everyone who took care of her daughter and all others for their continued prayers and support. 

“Thanks to the amazing first responders, and medical teams at University and Children’s Hospital in New Orleans, LA, we are headed home with our baby girl as she continues to recover,” she wrote. “Above all else we are so thankful for each and every prayer, because we know that is what truly made the difference. Thank you again to everyone. We are truly blessed?”

Shortly after the 8-year-old returned home, she was celebrating Valentine’s Day with her friends and practicing basketball with her team.

“1st Basketball practice today ? #Godisgood ??,” Spears wrote alongside a video of Maddie shooting hoops.

As for Spears, she is finally getting back to her normal work routine. On Saturday, Feb. 25, she announced she was back to work and grateful that her daughter has fully recovered. “God truly blessed us with a miracle,” she wrote. 

Jamie Lynn became a mother at a very early age and told Womanista this past June that she sometimes forgets how old. She also explained that being a young mother can be difficult at times. “I became a mother very young…I forgot – or was almost afraid – to remind myself that I’m 25 years old,” she said.
