Gabby Douglas‘s medical condition has been revealed!
The Olympic gold medalist did not attend the MTV Video Music Awards due to medical issues that sent her to the hospital.

“Hey guys! Just wanted to let you know that I’m doing ok! I had a complication from a prior injury that caused a cyst to grow on a bone in my mouth,” Douglas, 20, posted on Instagram. “Got it removed and feeling much better now! Thanks for all your concerns and prayers and HUGE thank you to the doctors that have taken care of me these last four days!”
As a result, Douglas will need to have her wisdom teeth removed soon.
Unfortunately, she returned to the hospital on the same day she was released for a serious infection, her publicist told PEOPLE.
