After spending three months in jail for being convicted of sexually assaulting an unconscious woman, Brock Allen Turner officially registered as a sex offender on Tuesday in western Ohio, according to a police official.
An official with the Greene County Sheriff’s Office said that the former Stanford swimmer registered in Greene County outside of Dayton. He was released from jail in California last week, and will be a registered sex offender for life.

Under the section for “Other Known Addresses,” Turner did not list any schools or jobs. Once he gets a job or goes to another school, he will be required to add the information, according to TMZ.
Anyone living within 1,250 feet of Turner’s address will be notified that he is living in the area with a postcard. Greene County Sheriff Gene Fischer said last week that Turner will not be allowed to live within 1,000 feet of schools or playgrounds.
The case made national headlines when Judge Aaron Persky gave Turner an extremely lenient sentencing that caused public outrage. Persky gave him to only a six-month jail term, out of a possible 14-year sentence.
After a fraternity party, Turner sexually assaulted a woman near Stanford in January of 2015. Earlier this year, a Santa Clara County jury found the 21-year-old guilty of three felony counts including assault with intent to commit rape of an intoxicated or unconscious person, penetration of an intoxicated person and penetration of an unconscious person.
The prosecutors sought a six-year sentence in state prison arguing that Turner was without remorse for the crime and that the victim was especially vulnerable in her unconscious state, according to CNN.
Turner now must complete three years of probation, and will enter a sex offender management program for at least one year or as long as three.
