In Chapter 5 of American Horror Story: Roanoke, showrunner Ryan Murphy finally gave us Evan Peters for the first time this season.

Earlier on Wednesday afternoon, Ryan Murpy tweeted: “Evan Peters makes his season debut in tonight’s American Horror Story: Roanoke…and no, he’s not playing a producer.”

The ongoing speculation has been that the 29-year-old actor would be portraying one of the producers on the show within the show. The other most popular predictions were that Peters would either be a descendant of Edward Phillip Mott (the builder of the Roanoke house), the Piggy Man, or a love child between Edward Phillip Mott and Lady Gaga’s Woods Witch, according to MTV.

Luckily for all the viewers, Ryan Murphy did not make us wait any longer as Peters showed up immediately at the beginning of the episode. We soon learned that Peters was portraying Edward Phillip Mott himself. While donning a George Wasington-style wig, Peters as Edward Phillip Mott delivers the origin story of the house and its hauntings.

Needless to say, social media erupted when the viewers finally got a glimpse of Peters on Season 6 of AHS.

While fans have been anxiously awaiting the introduction of Evan Peters into the storyline, they were let down in a cruel way when his character died within the first ten minutes. Peters showed up just long enough to help out Matt and Shelby from a sticky situation, and to make out with another dude, before falling victim to The Butcher and her colony when they impaled him with a wooden pike before setting him on fire.

What was your reaction to seeing Evan Peters for the first time on American Horror Story: Roanoke?
