By now, Game of Thrones fans have realized the rumors of Jon Snow's death are seemingly exaggerated. Yet, there is another fan-favorite character that could be returning next season, and it wouldn't be the first time the show deviated from the original story.

Potential spoilers ahead.

The Game of Thrones fansite, Watchers on the Wall have claimed that there could be a few big character returns for this season. One being the slaver Yezzan, played by Enzo Cilenti who appeared in two episodes last season. He appears to be in Belfast on set, but could be visiting or working on something else in the country as he's been posting on his Instagram account.

Then there's the big one.

A source tells the site that Rory McGann, who plays the Hound, has been staying at a hotel in Belfast commonly used for the cast and crew of the series. McGann currently has nothing scheduled on his plate or seemingly any other reason to be in Belfast at the moment. This is a major departure from the book as the Hound is still quite dead, but again, is the not the first time, and possibly not the last, that showrunners have departed from the novels.

So what do you think, readers? If the Hound is back, what would be his purpose this time around? Do you think it's a good idea to tell their own story instead of the one George R. R. Martin has laid out? Let us know in the comments below.
