In addition to Perry, the film will also star Cassi Davis, Patrice Lovely, Chandra Currelley, David Arvesen, Diamond White and Yousef Erakat.
The synopsis of the film is as follows:
"Madea, Aunt Bam, Vivian and Hattie Mae venture to a haunted campground and the group must literally run for their lives when monsters, goblins, and the bogeyman are unleashed. Meanwhile, Joe and a new character (Also played by Tyler Perry) are getting high while experiencing some turbulence in the campground's abandon building."
As Black Film reports, the first Boo! was the first time that Perry had directed a feature in two years, but he came back incredibly strong as Boo! topped the box office opening weekend, beating the Tom Cruise film Jack Reacher: Never Go Back $28.5M to 22.9M.
The film's production cost was reportedly around $20M and it grossed an estimated $75M globally, which made it the second biggest directorial effort for Perry after Tyler Perry's Madea Goes To Jail in 2009.
Interestingly, the idea for Boo! came from a joke in the Chris Rock film Top Five, which saw the comedian satirize the idea of a Tyler Perry horror film.
Boo 2! A Madea Halloween will premiere in theaters on October 20th of this year.
