While visiting The Tonight Show, American Horror Story actress Sarah Paulson displayed some killer karaoke chops. When host Jimmy Fallon brought up that he heard that Paulson knew all the words to Salt-N-Pepa’s 1993 hit “Shoop,” Paulson grabbed the mic and flawlessly rapped to the hip hop tune.

“I hate putting people on the spot,” Fallon began.

“Oh, but you’re going to,” Paulson laughingly shot back.

“You’re not gonna make me do this right now,” Paulson said to Fallon after he brought up the song. However, The Roots started laying down the beat and the 41-year-old actress couldn’t fight the urge to spit a few bars.

Paulson, who recently won an Emmy award for her role in The People vs. O.J. Simpson, previously mentioned that singing karaoke in a private room “is the only way I can do it because I’m a really bad singer.” She continued, “My sister’s a big karaoke person, and she’s never been able to get me to do it.”

She may be a self-proclaimed bad singer, but her rapping abilities are on point.

Bobby Cannavale, Paulson’s former co-star from Cupid, added, “Sarah does a mean Salt-N-Pepa, though. You got to hear her do her Salt-N-Pepa.” Thanks to Bobby Cannavale for the suggestion, because now we have.

Before winning the Emmy award for the role of Marcia Clark this year, Paulson had been nominated six times. She was up against Kirsten Dunst from Fargo, Kerry Washington from Confirmation, Felicity Huffman from American Crime, Audra McDonald from Lady Day at Emerson’s Bar and Grill and Lili Taylor from American Crime.
