One bride-to-be from Pittsburgh traded in the normal Bachelorette party festivities for something very special.

On August 6, instead of spending the day on herself, Jessika Baldwin chose to plan a day full of beauty pampering for some of the ladies at a local women’s shelter.

Baldwin told The Huffington Post, “I was in a tough place in my life before โ€• I think we’ve all been there โ€• and I remember wishing for someone to just pick me up, take me out and just make me feel good.”

She continued, “So, I really wanted to help lift the spirits of some women who are in a difficult life situation and treat them for the day.”

After Baldwin suggested the idea to her friends and family, everyone was more than excited to be involved.

“When your closest friends and family get together for your Bachelorette party, that makes for a powerful team!” Baldwin said.”I wouldn’t want to waste that time and energy, so to use it making others feel good (even if it’s just for one day) makes for a better memory than taking shots, stumbling around and bar hopping.”

The final itinerary for the bachelorette party included: coffee at Starbucks, haircuts at a salon, manicures, lunch, a shopping spree, a photoshoot and finally, a nice dinner.

Baldwin said, “My favorite part was seeing all the smiles on everyone’s faces throughout the day!”

Jessika Baldwin and her husband, Michael Keefer, were wed on September 10 with the ceremony held on a private beach in Eerie, Pennsylvania. They have been together for seven years.

Kudos to Jessika Baldwin for this inspiring story and her selfless generosity.
