In the wake of Kailyn Lowry’s suggestions on social media that MTV had poorly edited Teen Mom 2, her ex Javi Marroquin is slamming the 25-year-old mother-of-three, stating she has total control of her story.
At the end of July, Lowry backed up claims made by co-star, Chelsea Houska on Twitter that suggested MTV’s production crew misled viewers with the sequence of scenes.

Lowry explained that the scene where her son Isaac starts crying in a restaurant because his family doesn’t live together was set up to look that way. She wrote on Twitter, “They did [that] several times on tonight’s episodes. And provoked the scene with Isaac crying at dinner!!! And I lost my mind!!!”

Lowry goes deeper, by saying there was something “suspicious” in the background of her scenes, which some eagle-eyed viewers caught on to as well.

“Let’s talk about how bad the timeline is off tonight. Peep the wall paint and how it flips from mint to yellow back to mint” she wrote.

MTV didn’t respond to the allegations made by its two stars, but Lowry’s ex, Marroquin didn’t have it one bit and shared his two cents with publication, In Touch Weekly.
โ
“This is our story. I don’t know how editing is so bad when no one is forcing us to say the things we do,” Marroquinย said. “We control our story, so I never understand that. Yes, they may cut some things out, but we should be cognizant about what we say knowing they may cut some things out.”
While Lowry has not responded to Marroquin’s claims, the two have their issues with one another, making their next venture together an interesting one for audiences.
Though the pair split up in December 2015, Marroquin and Lowry will be starring on Marriage Boot Camp Reality Stars, as per a report from PEOPLE.
โ
Lowry and Marroquin were married for three years and share one child, son Lincoln, 3. Agreeing to joint custody last summer, the two have had their fair share of issues in the public eye, many which have been revealed on their MTV reality show.
In a recent episode, it was reported that Lowry and Marroquin signed a consensual order of protection limiting communication between the two, stating that they will only be able to text or write regarding plans for Lincoln.
Lowry, who just gave birth earlier this month to her third child, has had a complicated relationship with Marroquin. She told Radar Online last week that she does not want Marroquin to have a relationship with her newborn son, “Baby Lo,” whom she conceived with Chris Lopez.
โ
While she acknowledges Marroquin’s role as a stepfather to her son Issac, 7, whom she shares with Rivera, she doesn’t find it necessary for the 24-year-old to be a “father-figure” for her unnamed newborn son’s life.
“I don’t see a reason for him to be involved other than knowing and acknowledging that this is Lincoln’s half sibling. That being said, on my end, there is no bad blood. But I don’t think there is any reason for him to necessarily be involved,” she shared with Radar, adding that he didn’t even say “congratulations” to her.
But even though Marroquin is not he newborn’s biological father, reports state he might have legal responsibilities to the child. An attorney specializing in family law in Delaware, Lowry’s home state, told Radar that the law specifics “the ex-husband is presumed the father of a child if the child is born less than 300 days after the divorce.”
โ
Conversely, if Marroquin wants to free himself from any accountabilities, he will have to file a valid denial of paternity with the Office of Vital Statistics. With accordance to Statue 8-305, Lopez will be required to file a valid acknowledgement of paternity to “discharge the presumed father from all rights and duties of a parent.”
However, Lowry is not concerned about Marroquin or his role in their new family dynamic, stating “Chris is the father,” and that the two are going to “work together to make sure everything is taken care of and that that’s established.”
In an interview with Radar Online, Lowry shared that she hopes Lopez will be part of their son’s life.
“Every child deserves their dad,” Lowry told the news agency. I’m positive he’ll be around.”
