Parents-To-Be George and Amal Clooney Are Making a Major Life Change

George and Amal Clooney have decided on a major life change as they await the arrival of their children.

The actor, 55, and Amal, 39, are expecting twins later this spring and have reconsidered their travel schedule. The couple has chosen to avoid traveling to dangerous places.

George and Amal both travel internationally for work and plan on staying low for the next few months until the birth of their twins. Amal is a top international human rights lawyer and has traveled to very dangerous locations in the past to work with her high-profile clients.

“We decided to be much more responsible, to avoid the danger,” the actor tells the French outlet Paris Match. “I won’t go to South Sudan any more or the Congo, Amal will no longer go to Iraq and she’ll avoid places where she knows she isn’t welcome.”

Amal recently took on a case against ISIS on behalf of her client Nadia Murad, a human trafficking survivor.

At the time, the soon-to-be mother said that she discussed the potential dangers involved the case with her husband. She told NBC “this is something I discussed with my husband before I would take on something like this… and we are aware of some of the risks involved.”

George Clooney also opened up about what his family’s living situation will be after their twins are born. He admitted they will continue to live a jet-setting lifestyle until the twins begin school.

“We have the chance to live between three countries: Italy, America and England,” Clooney says, referring to the houses they own in each country. “But as soon as the children go to school, it’ll be necessary to choose where to settle. In the meantime, we will continue to move according to our respective schedules.”

Although some speculate the couple is rarely together, Clooney reveals that couldn’t be further from the truth.

“People think we’re never together, but we have not been separated for more than a week,” he adds.

George also spoke about the upcoming responsibilities of fatherhood. “How can we not be anxious about this immense responsibility?” Clooney admits.

“Bringing a child into this world … even two! We are very happy, very excited, but also a bit nervous, it’s normal. I don’t know where this rumor comes from that we’re going to have a boy and a girl. We ourselves don’t know yet and don’t want to know.”
