Pop star Demi Lovato and her longtime actor-boyfriend Wilmer Valderrama have split after six years of dating.
The exes posted the same breakup statement on Instagram Friday that details, “After almost 6 loving and wonderful years together, we have decided to end our relationship.”

The statement continues, “This was an incredibly difficult decision for both of us, but we have realized more than anything that we are better as best friends. We will always be supportive of one another. Thank you to everyone who has offered us kindness and support over the years. With only love, Wilmer & Demi.”
Valderrama, 36, and Lovato, 23, started dating just after she entered rehab for emotional and physical issues at 18 years old. They briefly broke up when she was relapsing, but happily celebrated their six-year anniversary together in January.
They were last spotted in public dining out in Beverly Hills, California, on May 24, mere days after attending the Billboard Music Awards together in Las Vegas.
