Anna Faris is addressing her split from Chris Pratt for the first time since the former couple announced their separation.
During her podcast, "Anna Faris Is Unqualified," the 40-year-old actress thanked her listeners in a brief statement for their outpouring of supporting during this difficult time.
"Hey, dear listeners!" she said. "I just want to thank you all so much for all the love I've been receiving, and I truly love you."
The remainder of the episode was a pre-taped crossover with Karen Kilgariff and Georgia Hardstark, the hosts of "My Favorite Murder."
The Mom stars' remarks make for the first time that she has made any public comments since revealing that she was calling it quits with her Guardians of the Galaxy actor estranged husband. The two penned a joint statement to announce their separation.
"We are sad to announce we are legally separating," the duo wrote. "We tried hard for a long time, and we're really disappointed. Our son has two parents who love him very much and for his sake we want to keep this situation as private as possible moving forward. We still love each other and will always cherish our time together."
As for Pratt, 38, he made his first public appearance at the Teen Choice Awards on Sunday. For his role in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, Pratt won the surfboard award for Choice Sci-Fi Movie Actor.
During his acceptance speech, Pratt said, "Wow thank you. I love you too, thank you. Many years ago, when I came to Los Angeles, I came from Hawaii and I had this blonde hair and tan, and I met an agent, because I really wanted to be an actor ... and he said 'Wow bro, you must surf,' and I said, 'Uh, yeah.' And that was the first of many lies that I told to get to where I am today."
In regards to what led Pratt and Faris to make the decision to end their marriage, an insider told Us Weekly that there was tension due to his rise to the top in Hollywood.
"Chris became this huge movie star and Anna wasn't getting any big jobs," a source said. "She was the more famous and sexy one at the start of their relationship and then things took a turn."
The two also were said to be competitive with one another.0comments
"When they're in a big group, they each want to be the one telling the funniest joke," the insider added.
