Called ‘Stormborn’, the second episode of Season 7 is looking like it will be the catalyst for most of the action this year.
Game of Thrones Premiere Contained Major Season 1 Easter Egg
The 20-second preview begins with Jon Snow’s men calling him out for his true lineage. It seems like the cat is out of the bag as they tell him, “A Targaryen cannot be trusted.” Then again, this could also be advice that Jon shouldn’t trust Daenerys if she reaches out to him.
Following the possible revolt, the preview takes things a little further south. Queen Cersei knows that Daenerys has made landfall and that a war is on the way. As she begins to plot, so does Yara Greyjoy, who tells Dany that they can’t hesitate any longer if they’re going to attack King’s Landing.
The Internet Reacts to Game of Thrones Season 7 Premiere
These scenes line up well with the synopsis for the episode that was previously released online.
Daenerys (Emilia Clarke) receives an unexpected visitor. Jon (Kit Harington) faces a revolt. Tyrion (Peter Dinklage) plans the conquest of Westeros. Written for television by Bryan Cogman; directed by Mark Mylod.
‘Stormborn’ is set to air this Sunday, July 23, at 9pm ET on HBO.
