Ariel Winter showcased a stunning gold dress at a Modern Family screening on Wednesday night and took the opportunity to dish on what it’s like to be a child star actress.

The photos taken during the TV Academy event show the 19-year-old donning a patterned mini dress that put her hourglass figure on full display. The revealing getup featured a cut-out window over Ariel’s chest that highlighted her ample cleavage and see-through sections over her thighs and hips.

The daring dress was one of many risqué fashion choices that Ariel Winter has made in recent months, and is consistent with her mission to promote body positivity. In addition to posting sexy snaps on social media, Ariel Winter has found that being on the ABC show has made a tremendous impact on how she views herself.

“The show helped me a lot,” Winter said while talking to Entertainment Tonight. “I was surrounded by so many great people that were really supportive of me and really, you know, wanted me to thrive. And told me all the time that they believed in me and thought I should be confident and all those things.”

Ariel Winter did explain, however, that being on a wildly popular sitcom came with its pressures.

“We were criticized a lot. And I was criticized especially being the youngest girl out of the cast. And it was definitely hard.”

The Kiss Kiss Bang Bang alum also shared the advice she would give to younger girls and fans that have issues with body confidence.

“Well, first of all, the way we are is beautiful,” she said. “I mean, that’s who we’re supposed to be, you know? And also, at the end of the day, the only person you should be trying to make happy is yourself and not other people. And I think that that’s the most important lesson we’ve all had to learn throughout the years. It’s definitely that pleasing yourself is most important before anybody else.”

Winter’s onscreen mother, Julie Bowen, praised Ariel for her confidence.

“I’m always like, ‘Why are you showing so much of your body?’ and then she’s like, ‘Why not?’” Bowen said. “She knows exactly who she is. She knows exactly, and I’ve watched so much negativity bounce right off her, and I’m like let me learn from you.”

Ariel’s other co-star, Sofia Vergara, also shared her admiration for professionalism on the set of the show.

“She’s great. She’s a great actress, she’s super professional. We love her on set. She has never given us a reason to be upset. It’s fantastic, actually, all the kids on the set are like amazing role model to all kids because they behave really nice.”
