'Wheel of Fortune' Fans Upset After Contestant Wins With Wrong Answer
The 'And' Rule
@wheeloffortune really needs to do away with penalizing contestants who add “and” when solving the crossword puzzles. #wheeloffortune

"The 'and' rule during crossword puzzles is the dumbest rule since the 'you must wear a shirt' rule at Applebee's," another fan had written about the "and" rule the show has enforced in the past.
Jeopardy Fans Too
If the blue player insists otherwise, she can always appeal for a reappearance if she didn’t speak up at the taping.
There was an ep a few years ago where they realized somebody didn’t proncounce the W in PROVINCETOWN, but decided to just keep playing and award everyone $3K

"I don't often weigh in on the sister show, but: [Wheel Of Fortune] is much like [Jeopardy] in that the judges are very much able to isolate audio of contestants and ascertain exactly what was said," a Jeopardy fan account wrote in response to the controversy. "If the Wheel judges are satisfied that the contestant said 'Craftsmanship', so am I."

OMG! You must have the hearing of a bat! But what about the contestant who mispronounced "data". She pronounced it as "day-tuh" instead of "dat-uh". Oh, wait! Is it the other way around? Maybe the guy has a lithp? Try pronouncing "Craftsmanship" with the "th" sound.

Plenty of fans actually defended the show and the allowance of the answer. "To all those that think [Wheel Of Fortune] cheated a lady out of the bonus round i would probably done the same thing 'pronounce' the word semi right especially craftsmanship to me the 's' is silence say it normal to yourself to see if 'you' say the 's' at the end of craftsmanship."

Okay. What happened?
— BigBroInfo (@BigBro_Info) November 20, 2021
The contestant pronounced it "craftmanship" and it was considered correct? Was it not caught or what? #WheelOfFortune
"Guy on [Wheel of Fortune] said "craftmanship" instead of "craftsmanship" but I guess they're giving it to him anyways?" another fan wrote. Others questioned why the issue wasn't caught by the judges on the show.
prevnextThat's Not Correct
#WheelOfFortune why was Steven’s response on “Quality Craftsmanship” rules correct tonight?? He said “quality craftmanship”—without the “S”! That’s incorrect! Lisa deserves another $9k, as she would have got that on the next turn.

"Uh, he said 'craftmanship.' That's not correct. [Wheel of Fortune]," was a recurring statement from fans. Others felt that the next contestant in line was cheated.
prevGod forbid any person with a speech impediment or lisp ever play this game and you are watching. But craftmanship is not even a word, therefore what he said or sounded like was correct.
