The reunion of the reality stars wasn’t just for fun — it’s actually going to be a special that airs on TV. The Jersey Shore stars have filmed a new project together but it won’t look much like the show we all remember them from.

Snooki Shares Jersey Shore Reunion Photo
Production sources tell TMZ that the reunion special is happening, and it’s going to showcase the current versions of Snooki, The Situation, Pauly D, JWoww and the rest of the gang. Instead of focusing on the wild antics that got them attention in the first place, the project will show fans where the stars have been since the series ended, and how reality TV has affected their lives.
The report also states that the reunion won’t be a full series. A cable network will air either a one-time special, or just a couple of episodes, and it will have the documentary feel of the original Jersey Shore.

This is set to be the first of several special projects set to reunite former reality stars after years of being apart.
There’s no word on which cable network will be airing the Jersey Shore Reunion, but it’s likely to air sometime in August.
