TVLine reports that Kennedy, usually known for his comedic roles, has signed on to appear in the sixth episode of the upcoming season. Fans haven’t seen Ferrell since his debut in the Season 3 episode titled ‘Lucky.’
If you recall, Ferrell was tracked down by the BAU back in 2007. When interrogated by the team and a local priest, Ferrell revealed that he had cooked the victim and fed her to all of the people who were attending an event at the park.

When the priest told Ferrell that “God is in everyone,” the killer famously replied, “So is Tracy Lambert.”
Criminal Minds showrunner Erica Messer spoke with TVLine about the returning character.
“It’s going to be so much fun,” Messer said. “It’s going to dredge up a lot of reminders for the team and the struggles that people had with faith in that episode.”
Criminal Minds will return to CBS on Wednesday, September 27.
