ABC News 2 Chief Meteorologist Danielle Breezy is opening up to her social media followers about her health. In a Jan. 7 post of her smiling with her thumbs up on a hospital bed, she shared that she’d undergone a hysterectomy.
Breezy revealed the surgery was due to complications from endometriosis, which is a condition resulting from the appearance of endometrial tissue outside the uterus and causing pelvic pain. Endometriosis can impact a woman’s fertility.

“I wanted to share a personal update. After years of dealing with endometriosis, my doctor recently found a mass on my uterus. Yesterday, I had a laparoscopic hysterectomy, and I’ll be off work for a bit while I focus on recovery,” she shared in the post. “In the next week or so, we’ll also get results back on the mass. I appreciate all the positive thoughts and any recovery tips you’re willing to share as this has been a difficult challenge for me. I’m incredibly grateful for the amazing medical team who took such great care of me, and for our family and friends who have been so supportive to both @joebreezyradio and me,” she concluded, tagging her husband Joe.
The couple have been married for nine years. Joe is also in media, working as an on-air personality for radio. Outside of working, the couple are avid travelers. They document their travel adventures on their respective social media pages.
