On Wednesday, HBO released the first batch of photos from the next episode of Game of Thrones, titled “Eastwatch.”
While the images don’t say too much — HBO is great at releasing photos that tell you nothing about the episode — they do show a little bit of the recent battle’s aftermath.
What most fans will notice first is the picture of Tyrion walking by himself, examining the torched battleground. He was clearly beside himself by the end of the battle, hoping Jaime wouldn’t try to attack Daenerys. It’s also unclear whether or not Tyrion knows if his brother is alive or not.
Many of the other photos show some familiar faces dealing with the fallout of the battle. Jon Snow is active at Dragonstone, as is Varys, and Cersei has the wheels turning in King’s Landing.
The one other photo worth noting shows Samwell Tarly. We haven’t seen the Maester-in-training for a couple of episodes and it’s clear that he’s making a return this Sunday. He’s also got Gilly by his side, helping him solve whatever great puzzle he’s working on.

“Eastwatch” will air on Sunday, August 13 on HBO.
