There may be a cure for greyscale, but things are not looking good for Jorah Mormont.
During the first two episodes of Game of Thrones, viewers watched as Jorah tried to find a cure for his disease at The Citadel. Samwell Tarly is performing some experimental surgeries on the loyal fan-favorite, but it might not be enough.

While at the Season 7 premiere event, Glen spoke to Vulture about Jorah’s future on the show. When opening up about the character’s greyscale, Glen revealed that things are not going well.
“It’s very advanced,” he said. “I’m in trouble. No doubt about it, I’m in trouble.”
Glen went on to explain where Jorah finds himself this season. He said that he wasn’t planning on continuing to live, but that Dany’s order to find a cure gave him a reason to keep going.

“I got to a point where I think I was quite happy to die, I suppose. I’d sort of given up hope because I’d lost her affection and lost her belief in me. And the last moment of our time together last season she said, ‘I need you, I need you to look after yourself, find a cure, so you can come back and be beside me when I occupy the Iron Throne.’ That’s my route this season, to see if I can find a cure,” he said.
Well, as of last week’s episode, Jorah is much closer to finding the cure than many anticipated. The will of Samwell Tarly is the only thing keeping Dany’s right-hand man alive at this point.
More about Jorah’s story is likely to be revealed on the next episode of Game of Thrones, airing this Sunday night on HBO.
