Numerous fans have reached out with kind words for the actress, with Hayes liking and retweets several sentiments.

Among those kind messages were several more high-profile actors and personalities that shared their support and offered their own similar experiences.

David Arquette

One of the first to reach out was actor David Arquette. Arquette, who’s best known for roles in Scream and Buffy the Vampire Slayer, shared a similar firing he suffered.

“I once had a scene with Anthony Michael Hall that I was the lead in and after the scene the director replaced me with Anthony Michael Hall,” he said.

The actor is presumably referring to the independent film Something About Her, which saw Arquette get recast at the last minute.

Hayes seemed to appreciate the sentiment, replying “Oh man. This business.” She also added a grimacing emoji for good measure.

Megan Mullally

Hayes’ friend and comedian Megan Mullally also commented on the departure and how the showrunners will regret letting her go.

Mullally is a sitcom vet, starring on Will and Grace, Parks and Recreation and Party Down, among others. She also starred with Hayes on the Adult Swim comedy Children’s Hospital.

“y’all are crazy @KevinCanWaitCBS,” Mullally said. “Erinn Hayes is a truly great, hilarious actress who can do literally anything. your loss.”

“I love you so much, friend,” Hayes replied, adding a heart emoji.

Media Personalities

Numerous media personalities chimed in as well with their own take on the departure.

The industry sentiment seemed to be she’s a talented and funny actress that has bright future ahead.

“I’m a big fan of Erinn Hayes. Excited to see what she does next,” said TV Line founder Michael Ausiello.

“Bummed, and hope you’ll be back on TV soon,” said former Deputy Bureau Chief for CBS News Bruce Rheins. “You’ve been great since ‘Worst Week,’ not to mention ‘Children’s Hospital.’

Hayes appreciated Rheins’ remark, saying “I hope so too. Call Hollywood would ya?”.

Hayes has served as a guest star on numerous shows including Parks and Recreation, Workaholics and Grey’s Anatomy. Before Kevin Can Wait, she was best known as a series regular on Children’s Hospital and Worst Week.

While Hayes’ next role has yet to be revealed, she’s already slated to star in several indie films, including Band Aid and Sharon 1.2.3.
