The remix of Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee’s “Despacito” featuring Justin Bieber has been the top song in America this summer, but now the video — sans Bieber — has hit a major milestone all its own.
The video for the Spanish-language hit not only became the most-watched video in YouTube history on Friday, but it also became the first to hit three billion views. The video unseats previous record-holder Wiz Khalifa and Charlie Puth’s “See You Again,” according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The San Juan, Puerto Rico-filmed video, which was shot in Spanish and does not feature Bieber’s additional verses, hit the three billion mark remarkably quickly without Bieber. It was first posted Jan.12 of this year, making it climb to record-breaking success in just seven months.
The Bieber remix remains at number one on the Billboard Hot 100 and is tied with Ed Sheeran’s “Shape of You” for the longest number one streak on the Hot 100 in 2017.
