'The Bachelorette': Jenn Tran Shares Shocking Update About Final Rose Pick After Finale

The Bachelorette's engagement to Devin Strader took a turn for the worse on Tuesday's finale.

The Bachelorette's Jenn Tran didn't get her happily ever after with Devin Strader. Having proposed to Devin in Hawai'i, Jenn revealed during the Tuesday, Sept. 3 After the Final Rose special that their engagement fell apart soon after they returned home.

"It's been a really hard couple of months," Jenn, 26, confessed to host Jesse Palmer. "We had left Hawai'i engaged and very happy. I thought that I had found the person I was going to spend the rest of my life with, and then, essentially, as soon as we left Hawai'i, things were different. It kind of just felt like he was pulling away."

"The efforts were inconsistent, he wasn't calling as much. texting as much," she continued. "I was confused, I didn't understand because we had just left so happy." Jenn revealed that she felt "secondary to everything else" in her fiancé's life and couldn't understand what had changed.

Then the night before the two were scheduled to have a private getaway last month, Devin called Jenn and "basically broke off" their engagement. "He basically said that he didn't love me anymore and didn't feel the same way," Jenn recalled. "He regretted getting engaged. And I didn't know. I knew all along it was just different."

"He was making bold proclamations of love and then suddenly the next day he was like, nothing and he denied ever being in love," she continued "All the promises he had made to me, all of the love that he had wanted to give to me wasn't there anymore." Despite "fighting for" their relationship, suggesting counseling or taking the pressure off the actual engagement, the ABC leading lady said Devin "was just done."

When the two exes finally came face to face during Tuesday's show, Jenn called him out for being "disrespectful" after ending their engagement over the phone, accusing him of following her former The Bachelor castmate Maria Georgas on Instagram the next day "Why you would do something like that?" she asked him. "Because it completely invalidated our entire relationship, everything that I had felt for you, everything that we'd felt for each other."

Devin admitted to having "failed" Jenn but denied that his feelings were anything but real. He claimed that after leaving the show, he had "a lot of doubts," and "regretfully and sadly" he repressed those feelings without expressing them to Jenn. "I know that I fell short of a lot of your expectations to the point where you, like you said, you were doing things that were diminishing who you were," he conceded. "And you can sit here and say I'm a liar, this and that, I'm not gonna deny you on any of those things."

Asked what she wanted her final words to Devin to be, Jenn was assured in her conviction. "I hope that you learn that the weight of your words matter, and that if you're going to promise something, you should be able to fulfill those promises," she told him. "I just I simply couldn't have done what you have done in that position. And when I love something, I nurture it and I value it, and I don't throw it away the next day."

The Bachelorette is available to stream on Hulu.
