Fans may not get to see Thomas Gibson on their TV screens anymore, but it is now possible to follow him on Twitter.
The disgraced actor signed up on Twitter a few days after being let go from Criminal Minds following a physical altercation with a writer on set. His first four tweets address his fans and thank them for the support.

“I wish I could thank each of you for your friendship & support. I love “Criminal Minds,” & I’m disappointed by what’s happened,” he said in his first tweet on the new platform.

His reps have confirmed that the as yet unverified account does belong to the actor.
“I’m here on #Twitter so we can stay connected in the days to come, and talk directly with each other,” he explained a few minutes later.

Gibson has remained subdued and humble since the news broke that he was suspended and subsequently fired.
He continued with his message, adding, “The support you show means the world to me and my family. This is not an ending, but a beginning as well. Thank you all.”

He then responded to a fan’s well wishes, saying he and his family appreciated the love and support their fan base had expressed.
.@batesminds I do, from so many people. And my family and I can’t thank you enough.

The tame Twitter reaction is somewhat surprising considering the actor’s past in anger management and the affinity so many celebrities have for stirring up drama on Twitter.
He also added a photo to his existing Instagram account of him boating with his dog.
“Hazel and I both looking forward to what’s down the road…” he wrote. For the sake of his fans, hopefully that road leads to a new show.
