Sons Of Anarchy: Every Actor Confirmed For Mayans MC So Far

Sons Of Anarchy is getting ready to ride again, as series creator Kurt Sutter is bringing the show’s first spin-off series to life.

Mayans MC will focus on the rival club from the original series, and is set to take place along the California/Mexico border.

With the pilot set to begin filming later this month, casting announcements have been coming out of the woodwork. If you’ve been paying attention, you’ve probably noticed that this is shaping up to be one of the most talented casts of the new TV season.

JD Pardo “Ezekiel ‘EZ’ Reyes”

EZ will be the stand-out lead character for Mayans MC, and he’s in the capable hands of JD Pardo.

The actor was first recognized for his role in the Twilight franchise, but has quickly become respected for his work on television.

Pardo had a lead role in the ABC hit series Revolution, and followed that up with another success. He’s been praised for his recurring work on the Hulu original series, East Los High.

Edward James Olmos “Felipe Reyes”

The name pretty much speaks for itself here – Edward James Olmos is one of the best in the business. 

This cast is going to be full of young talent, so the showrunners knew that a veteran presence would help immensely. And it doesn’t get much more veteran than Olmos.

After making a name in big films like Blade Runner and Stand And Deliver, Olmos became a TV icon. The actor has starred in shows like Miami Vice, Battlestar Galactica, and Marvel’s Agents Of SHIELD.

Clayton Cardenas “Angel Reyes”

The Reyes family will be the focal point of the series, and EZ’s older brother will play a large part of that.

Angel Reyes will be played by Clayton Cardenas, a relative newcomer to mainstream TV. The character struggles with his desire to please his father, and rise above the family’s favoritism of his younger sibling.

While you may not have seen Cardenas in much, he’s definitely a talented guy. The part-time poet is full of passion, and is about to have a major role in the third season of American Crime. 

Richard Cabral “Johnny ‘El Coco’ Cruz”

Mayans MC took a big step towards an all-star cast after it added Richard Cabral to its ranks. The actor wowed fans during his run on American Crime, and received an Emmy nomination for his role.

On the new show, Cabral will play Johnny ‘El Coco’ Cruz. His names lives up to the hype, as Cruz seems to be the wild card of the group.

According to his bio, Cruz was dismissed from the military after shooting a cigar out of his commanding-officer’s mouth. Not only that, but the guy did it from a half a mile away – while completely stoned.

John Ortiz “Esai ‘Taino’ Osorio”

While Marcus Alvarez – overall Mayan President – is keeping things in check up North, he needs a trusted face to take care of business near the border.

This is where Esai ‘Taino’ Osorio comes into play.

Taino – played by popular actor John Ortiz – is the President of the Santo Padre charter. The guy also happens to be Alvarez’s cousin.

Antonio Jaramillo “Michael ‘Riz’ Ariza”

Every president needs a VP, and Shades Of Blue actor Antonio Jaramillo is stepping in to take on the responsibility. 

Jaramillo will play Michael ‘Riz’ Ariza, who is the charter’s second-in-command. The character was originally the leader of a local Mexican MC, but his crew was patched in by the Mayans.

The Mayans MC pilot is set to film this March in Los Angeles. Sons Of Anarchy creator Kurt Sutter is directing the episode, with a script written by showrunner Elgin James. If picked up to series, the show will likely air on FX this fall. The cast for the series includes JD Pardo, Antonio Jaramillo, Clayton Cardenas, John Ortiz, Richard Cabral, and Edward James Olmos.
