With September set to herald the release of Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children, 20th Century Fox has just released an extended TV spot for the fantasy film. And, appropriately enough, the trailer looks very peculiar.
The clip begins with familiar footage of Ella Purnell (Emma Bloom) adventuring to a shipwreck at the bottom of the sea with Jacob Portman (Asa Butterfield). Fans can see the girl’s strange powers as she uses her ability to control air to help the pair safely navigate some deep, rough water. But it’s when Ella tells Jacob she’ll only show him the rest of her secrets if he promises not to run away that fans realize there’s more to her world than what meets the eye.

Fittingly enough, the trailer goes on to shed new light on what those secrets might be. In a following scene, Miss Peregrine (Eva Green) teases the main plot of the film when she reveals that her charges and herself have been hunted for years for their powers. And, when Jacob asks her who’s been hunting them, the headmistress replies, “Monsters.” Judging from the clip, it seems that Barron (Samuel L. Jackson) will be the head ‘Wight’ in-charge of tracking down the supernatural group. However, the villain’s job comes up against a major obstacle when it’s revealed that Jacob “was born to protect” the peculiar kids.
So, with the help of Eva and her many kids, it appears as if Jacob will be in for one crazy ride as he comes to discover what his destiny is pushing him into. Of course, readers of Random Rigg’s popular book series will soon get to see how the live-action film will live up on-screen, and fans are definitely excited to check out the film.
Miss Peregrine’s Home For Peculiar Children will hit theaters on September 30th.
