Actress Jennifer Esposito has signed to join CBS drama NCIS for season 14. Esposito and Duane Henry, who guest starred in the final two episodes of the last season, have signed on to become series regulars, according to Variety.

The addition of Jennifer Esposito and Duane Henry marks a significant change in the show’s direction as the upcoming season will be without longtime star Michael Weatherly, who portrayed agent “Anthony DiNozzo.” Weatherly will be starring in a different CBS legal drama this fall titled Bull.

Esposito will portray an experienced agent, Special Agent Alex Quinn, who put behind field work in order to become an instructor at the Law Enforcement Training Center. Gibbs (Mark Harmon) will convince her to return to the field as part of his team where he will look to use her sharp wit, quick mind and fierce talent as a federal agent, according to Variety.

“We just couldn’t be happier to have Jennifer Esposito joining us for season 14,” said Gary Glasberg, the executive producer for NCIS. “She embodies everything that we hoped for in the character of Quinn and we can’t wait to have her come be a part of our team.”

Esposito has previously starred on CBS shows Blue Bloods and Judging Amy, while some of her other TV credits include: Mistresses, Samantha Who?, Spin City, Rescue Me, and the Showtime channel drama The Affair.

As for British actor Duane Henry, he will be reprising his role as MI6 Officer Clayton Reeves in season 14. However, Sarah Clarke, who also joined NCIS in the previous season, is not scheduled to return to the show this fall.

Look for Jennifer Esposito, Duane Henry, and the rest of the NCIS team when the show returns this fall on September 20 on CBS.
