Amid Aguilera’s dramatic weight loss that left NBC with lots of questions, Shelton reported seeing his co-worker doing drugs on set several times. The sightings combined with the weight loss left NBC with no choice but to no terminate the season 10 winner’s contract and replace her quickly before the next tapings started.
Aguilera then went on Ellen and talked to the daytime host about what happened and how it’s affecting her future plans. She said the substance Shelton saw her taking was definitely not drugs, but Garcinia Cambogia, an over-the-counter weight loss supplement.
“Was I shocked? Devastated? Heartbroken? Of course because I didn’t ever think that would ever happen. But certain things were said and there’s no looking back now, I just wanted to clear the air because my fans deserve the truth,” Aguilera told DeGeneres.
The singer shared about her struggles with weight her whole life and said the natural supplement was “a miracle.”
“If I wasn’t losing weight, I was struggling to keep it off. Thanks to Garcinia, I lost 30 pounds in 4 weeks and I feel great!”
Carrie Underwood, Melissa McCarthy, and Wendy Williams have all joined the GC train and have said to have lost a considerable amount of weight as well.
