A Britney Spears biopic is coming to Lifetime, Deadline reports.
The two hours TV movie, currently titled Britney, will focus on Spears’ rise to fame, her turbulent years in the mid 2000s, and her eventual comeback. The film will broach topics like Spears’ relationship with Justin Timberlake, her parents’ divorce, her marriages and life under the conservatorship of her father, before taking on her return to the top of the charts.

Natasha Bassett (Hail, Caesar!) has been cast as the pop icon.
Spears “will not be contributing in any way, shape or form to the Lifetime biopic nor does it have her blessing,” a representative for Spears said in a statement.
The film will begin production in Vancouver in September and premiere on Lifetime in 2017.
