After the news recently broke that Thomas Gibson had been suspended from 'Criminal Minds' for two episodes, the 54-year-old actor has finally addressed the incident in a statement published by The Hollywood Reporter.

"There were creative differences on the set and a disagreement," Gibson recalled in a statement to the publication. "I regret that it occurred. We all want to work together as a team to make the best show possible. We always have and we always will."

The veteran actor, who has starred on the series since its inception, will be suspended from two episodes of the show for reportedly kicking a producer during the disagreement. The incident occurred during an episode of the drama that Gibson was directing for the upcoming 12th season. He and the show's writer reportedly had a creative dispute, and when tempers flared, Gibson instinctively reacted to aggression by kicking the writer.

Gibson's character, FBI Special Agent Aaron Hotchner, will be written out of both episodes of the series. Also, he will not be stepping behind the camera for this season. Gibson was meant to direct one episode this season, after having directed two in the previous season.

Gibson's future with the show is unclear after the recent altercation, even though his contract does not expire until the end of the season.

A few years ago, Gibson had another incident with the series when he pushed a producer from the show. As a result, he was made to attend anger management classes, but was not suspended.

According to THR, CBS and ABC Studios did not respond to requests for comment.

Do you think CBS should keep Thomas Gibson on 'Criminal Minds' even though this is the second time he has had a physical altercation with another crew member?
