What happens when a bread truck collides with another truck carrying deli meat?

The makings of a whole lot of sandwiches, that's what.

NBC 4 New York reports that the two trucks were driving on New Jersey Interstate 287 Friday morning when they collided around 6 a.m., sending bread and deli meat spilling onto the highway.

Footage reveals first responders cleaning up the wreckage, removing dozens of bags of bread from the road after one truck's trailer was destroyed.

As you might imagine, the collision caused quite a backup in traffic as all but one of the roadway's southbound lanes were closed.

Luckily, no injuries were caused by the incident, and the debris was mostly cleared about an hour and a half later.

The internet has reacted and the reactions are priceless, as well as punny.

Lettuce mourn the loss of these sandwiches https://t.co/nZivRFBhMC
