Fans and friends of actor, John Heard, woke up to devastating news that the beloved star of Home Alone and its sequel had died at the age of 72.
TMZ reports the beloved star of several mega ’80s and ’90s films died on Friday in a Palo Alto, California hotel.

With much of Hollywood waking up to the news Saturday, many in the film and television industry expressed their deepest condolences and took to social media to pay their respects for the lovable actor.

Heard was an extraordinary actor who established himself in the late ’80s, early ’90s. While he is known best to audiences around the world as the lovable father in Home Alone, he acted in a slew of A-list film projects that garnered him much acclaim and solidified his role in Hollywood. Film critics took to Twitter to express their condolences and even share some of their criterion-type favorites.
