British actor Marcus Gilbert has died. He was 67.
The actor died on Sunday after a lengthy struggle with throat cancer. His death was announced by his fan site in a statement.

“Today we have heard the very sad news that Marcus lost his battle against cancer on Sunday 11th January 2026,” the statement read. “We, along with his many fans worldwide, will mourn his loss, and remember the joy he gave us on screen, and in person. RIP Marcus.”
The actor was best known for his role in Rambo III, where he played Tomask, and the second Evil Dead movie Army of Darkness, where he played Arthur.
He also appeared in four episodes of the classic BBC sci-fi series Doctor Who as Ancelyn.
Comedian Toby Hadoke, who collaborated with Gilbert on various Doctor Who-related media, posted a tribute to his memory on Instagram.
“Dashing, charming, and a strong actor with a bit of a twinkle – very sorry to learn of the death, too young, of Marcus Gilbert with whom I had a lovely time in Liverpool about a decade ago,” he wrote.
Russell T. Davies, who once served as showrunner and head writer for Doctor Who, commented on the post and said “Oh thatโs sad news,” with a heart emoji attached.
He is survived by his two sons.
