The characters on Sons of Anarchy are some of the most rough-and-tough TV characters you’ll find, with little hesitation for breaking the law. And it turns out, several of the actors have had their own run-ins with disobedience.
Several main cast members, supporting players and guest stars have been accused of a barrage of offenses including murder, animal cruelty, assaulting officers, drug possession and more.

Furthermore, while some didn’t have legal offenses on their record, they have confessed to partaking in some bad behavior, including heavy drug abuse.
Scroll through to see the five SoA actors who carried their bad behaviors into the real world.
Mark Boone Junior
Mark Boone Junior (born Mark Heidrich) had a run in with the law back in August 2010.
Boone, who played Bobby Munson on SoA, was arrested for allegedly assaulting a police officer after being stopped in Glendale, California, for a routine traffic violation. He was taken into custody after more officers arrived on the scene and was later released on $20,000 bail.
The L.A. County District Attorney later decided to not press charges for the incident, citing lack of evidence to prove Boone’s guilt.
Johnny Lewis
One of the most tragic downfalls on this list is that of Johnny Lewis, who played Half-Sack on the show.
Lewis was found dead in his landlord’s driveway on Sept. 26, 2012. It is believed Lewis accidentally fell to his death after murdering his landlord.
“It was a tragic end for an extremely talented guy, who unfortunately had lost his way,” Sons of Anarchy creator Kurt Sutter said of the death.
“I wish I could say that I was shocked by the events last night, but I was not. I am deeply sorry that an innocent life had to be thrown into his destructive path. Yes, it’s a day (of) mourning, but it’s also a day of awareness and gratitude. Sadly, some of us carry the message by dying,” he added.
David M. LaBrava
David M. LaBrava, the actor behind SoA‘s Happy, is one of the most interesting cast members due to his past.
LaBrava, who is a member of the Hells Angels Motorcycle Club, was arrested in Missoula, Montana, back in 2008.
Sheriff’s deputies entered LaBrava’s hotel room after they were told a woman was being held against her will there. As they were investigating the alleged assault, they discovered cocaine wrapped in a dollar bill, a baggie with 1.5 grams of hashish, a small amount of marijuana and “a death head style” narcotics pipe, according to the Missoulian.
He was then charged with two counts of felony drug possession and two misdemeanor charges for marijuana and paraphernalia possession.
Katy Sagal
While she hasn’t been in legal trouble, Katy Sagal recently revealed she had a 15-year addiction to diet pills, cocaine and alcohol.
Many of the revelations came from her recent book Grace Notes: My Recollections, in which she details her addiction and her journey towards sobriety.
“I had a drug and alcohol problem that lasted through my 20s,” she said in an interview promoting the book. “I had a tendency to sort of run with a crowd that had the same kind of problems that I did, or bigger ones.”
She later added, “I have that kind of compulsive personality that goes along with the substances. It started that way and it just escalated from there.”
Dimitri Diatchenko
Dimitri Diatchenko is the least-prominent SoA cast member on this list, but the criminal story is one of the most screwed up.
Diatchenko was the “Head Russian” in the season 4 episodes “Dorylus” and “Booster.” Back in December 2014, the actor killed his ex-girlfriend’s rabbit, skinned it, cooked it and sent his ex photos of the entire process.
He was charged with one felony count of cruelty to an animal with the use of knife and one felony count for making criminal threats. He ended up pleading guilty and was sentenced to community labor and animal cruelty counseling.
