Life of Kylie‘s two-part season premiere was full of interesting tidbits about Kylie Jenner‘s daily experiences.

One of the most interesting revelations came when Jenner visited a therapist to deal with the pressures of fame. During the first session, the Keeping Up With the Kardashians star revealed why she posts to social media so often.

“It’s way easier for me to post on Snapchat and Instagram than it is to be out in public,” she said. “And I just feel like for so long I’ve been putting on this different persona to the world. I felt like I started to depend on social media, feeling the need to post all the time. And I feel like I have to keep up this idea about who I am.”

While she still posts a lot, she says there’s one aspect of her personality she has left off of social media.

“I think I lost a lot of parts of myself,” she said. “When I was 14 I used to post all these funny videos all the time. Just me being like, super weird and funny and myself.”

She then goes into detail about when she started to gain more notoriety online, she started to receive waves of hate. That’s when she tucked away the “weird and funny” part of herself.

“Everyone says mean things some times, it’s just how social media is. It’s just a really mean, negative space,” she said. “Every single day I see something negative about me. When that started happening, that really started to affect me. I was like ‘I’m not going to show people that side of me any more.’

“I’m putting up a version of myself to the world that isn’t fully me. [Criticism] doesn’t really hurt me cause that’s not really me. A lot of people have it worse than me, it’s just that it is a lot to handle.”
