Despite photographs taken earlier this week of her wearing a “Make America great again” baseball hat during an afternoon drive, Caitlyn Jenner had some very scathing words for Donald Trump.

On Friday night, Jenner told TMZ that she was outraged by his latest actions that found the president banning transgender people from serving in the United States military.

“What he’s doing to our community is absolutely f–king awful,” the 67-year-old former Olympian said.

She went on to tell the media outlet that she now “detests” Trump, but claims she unknowingly wore the hat in order to protect her hair on the way to the Sherwood Country Club in Thousand Oaks, California.

TMZ reports that she had “rummaged through the 10 hats in her closet and grabbed one without looking at the stitching.”

When she reportedly got to the club, she “threw the hat on the floor of the car, spent an hour or so hitting some balls and left.” When she apparently got back to the car, she grabbed the hat and saw the inscription, realizing her mistake.

Deciding to wear the hat home assuming no one would see her, Jenner explained she then left her purse in a local Starbucks and had to retrieve it upon heading back. That’s when the photographer snapped the photograph, which went viral on Friday.

Since the photograph published, Jenner has faced criticism from the LGBTQ community, especially for her support for Republican Party and president.

Shortly after the ban, she took to Twitter to lash out via a retweet from Trump with a quote, and share her thoughts about the hateful action in a blog post on her website.

“There are 15,000 patriotic transgender Americans in the US military fighting for all of us. What happened to your promise to fight for them?” she wrote.

Knowing she will not be wearing the hat anytime soon, Jenner told TMZ she might sign it and auction it for raising money for pro-trans organizations, or “just rip it up or burn it.”

Jenner further apologized via TMZ to the trans community, saying she made a “mistake.”

“I will never do it again and I’m getting rid of the hat.”
