Hall confirmed the news with a tweet that read, "When the right call comes #grateful."

"I've been working towards developing a talk show for a long time, but needed to make sure I did it the right way and with the right person to take the lead," said Weinstein Company chairman Harvey Weinstein. "Tamron is far and away that person. She's an exceptionally talented journalist whose interviews masterfully walk the line between entertainment and hard hitting. We couldn't be more thrilled to begin this new venture with her."

Hall left Today after producers cut the "Today's Take" hour, which was led by her and Al Roker.

"The last 10 years have been beyond anything I could have imagined, and I'm grateful," she said at the time. "I'm also very excited about the next chapter. To all my great colleagues, I will miss you and I will be rooting for you."

"We valued and enjoyed her work at Today and MSNBC and hoped that she would decide to stay," an NBC spokesman said of the departure. "We are disappointed that she has chosen to leave, but we wish her all the best."

In a social media video to fans, Hall let her followers know that she was beyond grateful for her support. She also revealed she'd be donating a tons of her wardrobe from Today to charity.
