Contemporary Christian musician, Nathan Johnson of the band, Meaning Machine, is mourning the loss of his wife, Megan Johnson who died less than 24 hours after giving birth to their first child.
CBS News affiliate, KMOV reports that Johnson and his wife Megan, welcomed their newborn daughter on Tuesday at 2:50 a.m. But while she had a smooth delivery and the family of three spent six hours together, she started to experience complications and passed away by 11 a.m. that morning.

Megan, who survived a heart transplant surgery seven years ago, had a smooth delivery according to Johnson's bandmate, Josh Wilson, who has now set up a GoFundMe page for the family.
Shortly after the birth of their child, Johnson took to Instagram to celebrate the birth of their daughter, sharing a sweet snap of the family.
"Happy Birthday Eilee Kate Johnson," he captioned. "Megan was/is a professional and feels great. Her heart worked perfectly the whole time and Eilee introduced herself quickly and smooth. I am a rich man!!!"
While the cause of death is currently unknown, the news affiliate reports Megan contracted a virus at the age of 15 that led to myocarditis, a potentially fatal heart disease.

Her condition sadly worsened over the years and she had a heart transplant in 2010. She wrote about her journey online and in a book titled, "Megan's Heart."
A year after her heart surgery, Megan married her husband, Johnson, with the two moving to Nashville, Tennessee.
Wilson told PEOPLE that the two were "so in love," adding that he had "never seen a husband brag about his wife as much as Nathan."
"If you look at his social media, half of his posts are about her. Their deep love for each other makes it that much harder," he said.
Friends and family have started a fundraising effort after learning about her passing. On Thursday, the GoFundMe account aimed at raising $40,000 surpassed the goal and reached more than $330,000 in just one day.
Megan's funeral will be held on Sunday in St. Louis, Missouri.
