Grey's Anatomy returns for its fourteenth season on Sept. 28, and the ABC medical drama will be adding some fresh faces to the mix.

One of those faces will be Dr. Andrew DeLuca's (Giacomo Gianniotti) sister, who will arrive at Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital during an upcoming episode.

Gianniotti dished on the arrival to Entertainment Tonight at the Disney/ABC cocktail party at the Beverly Hilton Hotel on Sunday, although he didn't share the reason his character's sister decides to head for Seattle.

"We are bringing my sister [in] as a new character," he said. "She is going to be a new presence at the hospital. She comes from Italy, as my character is Italian, and you get to see us exchanging some blows in Italian, which will be very interesting."

The actor wasn't able to share DeLuca's sister's profession, but did refer to it as "interesting."

"Her profession, although we can't disclose it, is a very interesting one," he revealed. "It's going to keep a lot of the doctors on their toes, make some doctors uncomfortable [and] some people will be glad about [her coming on]. She'll stir things up with a European background and take on medicine."

While an actress has been cast to portray the character, Gianniotti couldn't share who she is, although the character is expected to have a multi-episode arc on the show.

"I can't wait for you guys to meet her," he said of his on-screen sibling. "She's lovely. She's going to be a great new addition to the show."

DeLuca's sister's arrival will be just a part of the exploration of the character over the upcoming season.

"This season, we're definitely going to get to know DeLuca a lot better," Gianniotti shared. "The writers have told me that they're fleshing him out a lot."
