President Donald Trump using his go-to social media platform to berate CNN is nothing new. However, his latest tweet utilized footage from his Wrestlemania appearance to deliver a unique slam to his least favorite TV network.

The edited clip is taken from Wrestlemania 23. Trump appeared as part of a Hair vs. Hair match between himself and Mr. McMahon (which also featured Stone Cold Steve Austin as the referee). The two didn’t square off themselves, but had surrogates (Bobby Lashley for Trump, Umaga for McMahon) wrestle instead.

However, the two did get physical outside the ring. At one point Trump clotheslined McMahon and started punching him on the ground.

This clip shows that moment, but the CNN logo is fixed atop McMahon’s head. Therefore, we see Trump beating down CNN.

As to be expected, he captioned the tweet with the hashtags “#FraudNewsCNN” and “#FNN” (Fraud News Network).

As pretty much everything Trump’s ever tweeted, this was controversial.

Some thought it was an amusing take-down of the network, some were appalled at the depicted violence against the press and some just had no idea what to make of it.

And in case you were wondering, Trump and Lashley ended up winning that Wrestlemania match, which caused McMahon to shave his head.
