It’s no secret this day and age that models are totally savvy business people, with models like Martha Hunt, Lily Aldridge and Taylor Hill bringing in followers in the hundreds of thousands, if not millions. And what better what to capitalize on their reach — and their taste! — than with a fashion line? Coco Rocha, the 27-year old Canadian model and mother to Ioni (who happens to have almost 50,000 followers herself, by the way), is launching a new sportswear/athleisure line to debut later this spring.
Co+Co by Coco Rocha will be a 60 piece contemporary sportswear line with an athleisure bend to it, with prices ranging from $80-300. We love all the mesh overlays and slits, and we love how Rocha is not afraid of mixing in strong pops of color with the more practical black pieces.
It’s been a long time coming for Rocha, who has waited longer than her contemporaries to design a line, but she promises that it’s well worth the wait for her 14 years of industry experience -- which includes spreads at Vogue, campaigns with Prada and more. The collection will have very fashion-forward elements with technical spins, such as scuba fabric and taped seams. Rocha, in an interview, said she, "drew from athletic wear for its comfort, heat technology and stretch, but that the line is really meant to be more for an everyday look." If it’s as comfortable as it looks, count us in!
Her husband, artist James Conran, is also a creative collaborator on the line, bringing a little bit of his eye to the brand. We love the eclecticism of the line — Rocha’s always been known for her off-beat quirk, such as her impressive traditional Irish dancing, and her love of actress Tilda Swinton. So far, from what we can see, it’s a winning combination, and the technical yet fashion forward space is one that continues to grow. This line, which will be available at department stores and online outlets as well as her newly re-launched lifestyle “network” CocoRocha.com, is bringing on the first of many hits for the working mother.
