
Tom Hanks’ mother has died, the actor revealed in a touching message on Tuesday. Janet Marylyn Frager was 84 years old.
“This beauty? My mom. She was the difference in many lives,” the actor wrote in a wholehearted tribute on Instagram. “Many lives. We say goodbye to her today. Safe crossing, mom.”

Hanks’ wife, actress Rita Wilson, also took to Instagram and shared a heartfelt message about her mother-in-law, writing, “This wonderful lady gave birth to my husband, and three other children. Thank you for bringing my love into the world. She is at peace now.”

The actor just celebrated his 60th birthday over the weekend.
