Emily Blunt (Edge of Tomorrow, Sicario) may be the spoonful of sugar that makes the new Mary Poppins movie go down … in the most delightful way!
On Monday, EW reported that Disney plans to make P.L. Travers roll in her grave some more by making a new Mary Poppins film. No, it won’t be a remake of 1964 classic, that starred Julie Andrews and Dick Van Dyke. This will be a follow-up film based on the remaining seven installments of P.L. Travers’ Mary Poppins series of children’s books.

Now Den of Geek is hearing from their sources that Disney is eyeing Emily Blunt for the title role and “she may even be the frontrunner.”
The film will be directed by Rob Marshall (Chicago), who worked with Blunt previously on another Disney musical, Into The Woods. She played the Baker’s Wife.
