Twitter Reacts To Olsen Twins’ Strange New Looks

Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen made a rare public appearanceat the Met Gala in New York City on Monday night, with both sisters looking a bit different compared to what most fans remember.

Several photos of the famous twins, who rarely act but are well-known fashion designers, surfaced from the event. Most notably Nicki Minaj posted the above photo with the twins that sent followers on multiple social media platforms into a tizzy.

“Omg I’m gagging ? #MetGala2017,” Minaj captioned the photo, presumably referring to her speechless reaction in meeting the 30-year-old twins.

The siblings are wearing elaborate lace gowns which, while unusual, are stunning in the Gala’s context.

Most of the hate thrown at the duo seems to derive from their physical appearances. Mary-Kate, who has battled eating disorders in the past, looks nearly unrecognizable, even when side-by-side with her twin.

As Twitter laid into the twins’ appearances, some fans were up in arms for the beloved duo.

Mary-Kate’s appearance could be attributed to past battles with anorexia, while Ashley previously suffered from lyme disease.

On the misunderstood dresses, fans deferred to the elegance of the dress and the duo’s higher sense of fashion.

The duo’s appearance at the event is one of the few sightings of the duo in recent years. They keep a low profile, even refusing to appear in Fuller House, the revival of the show that made them household names.

They’ve only been in headlines this year due to a massive lawsuit against their luxury fashion label.
