Looks like Katey Sagal is returning to us sooner rather than later. The former Married with Children and Sons of Anarchy star has been cast opposite Jermaine Fowler and Judd Hirsch in the new comedy pilot Superior Donuts for CBS.

Superior Donuts is a multi-camera comedy that will feature Sagal as a regular. She is also guest starring on another single-camera comedy for CBS titled Furst Born. That show extended its cast options as of June, as CBS kept it in consideration for a midseason series order.

Neil Goldman, Garrett Donovan, and Bob Daily will be helming Superior Donuts, based on a play by Tracy Letts, as writers and directors. The show will follow the relationship between a donut shop owner (Hirsch), his new young employee (Fowler), and their patrons in a neighborhood in Chicago. Sagal will play an experienced street cop who is also a regular at Superior Donuts.

Are you excited to see Katey Sagal make a return to television in this new role?
