Recently we have had approx. 500 cows stolen from our large dairy farm in the Ashburton Area.
If anyone has seen or heard anything suspicious we would love to hear from you. You could also contact the Ashburton Police.
Please SHARE as these animals could be anyway in the country.”
Ormsby-Saunders’ post has been shared almost 500 times now with Facebook users hoping to help in the search.
According to NewsHub, Pennie Ormsby-Saunders has a herd of 1300 cows, and noticed last week that about a third of them were missing. The cows were grazing over winter south of Ashburton when 500 of them allegedly went missing/were stolen.
In terms of financial loss, the cows are reportedly worth more than $1000 each. Therefore the damage results in a half a million dollar setback. So needless to say, the disappearance of more than a third of the herd is extremely devastating for Orsmby-Saunders.
What do you think happened to all of the dairy cows? Do you believe they were stolen or disappeared by some other means?
