In yet another unfortunately dangerous Pokemon GO incident, two players found themselves being shot at as they played the popular game in Florida.

The two teens involved in the incident confirmed with local deputies that they had been playing Pokemon GO while stopped outside of a house in one of their cars. However, the homeowner was not aware of what the teens were doing and decided to investigate their presence outside of his house after waking up to a loud noise around 1:30 AM.

According to the homeowner, he overheard one of the two asking something like "Did you get anything?" which prompted him to believe the teens were thieves. The homeowner proceeded to order the teens to not move the vehicle. However, the vehicle did reportedly speed towards him, causing the man to fling himself from the roadway. Believing the car to be a threat, the homeowner discharged his handgun several times at the vehicle as it sped away.

It was only after the next morning arrived that the local police received a call from a concerned parent of a 19-year-old who'd told her that he and a friend had been playing Pokemon GO when a man shot at their vehicle.

Meeting with officers, the teens recalled that they'd been sitting in the car as they tried to catch two pokemon: a Marowak and Tauros. Speaking to one another, the pair said one of them had asked, "Did you catch him," to which the other answer, "Yeah, did you?" Afterwards, the teens said they heard gunshots and immediately sped away towards home, indicating they had not heard the homeowner's demands. It was only after the teens noticed the car had been damaged by bullets that they told their parents about the incident as they'd believed the shooter had only been trying to scare them.

Who knew Pokemon GO could be so dangerous, yeesh?

In a recent statement regarding the incident, the Flagler Country Sheriff's Office has asked homeowners to refrain from confronting suspected thieves and to call law enforcement instead. As for Pokemon GO trainers, they've asked players to avoid private property and keep the game closed whenever they're in a car.

According to police, the incident is still under investigation. Any additional information will be provided regarding the case should it become available.
