Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson Says Shazam Might Come Earlier Than Predicted

MTV's Josh Horowitz caught up with Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson at the  the 87th Academy Awards and asked him about his upcoming super-villain role as Black Adam in Shazam.

We're not supposed to see Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson in the DC cinematic universe until 2019, but when Horowitz brings up how far away the film is Johnson cuts him off with him a surprising reveal. "You know, it may happen a little earlier than what has been predicted," Johnson told Horowitz at the Oscars. "The script is coming in, it's great. The support from the studio has been great. And it is just a great opportunity especially with Black Adam where you can take a guy that starts off as bad guy turns into an anti-hero. We can make him vicious; a little bit of winking charm."

Does he know who will play or is being considered by Warner Bros. for Shazam/Captain Marvel? "Don't know yet," The Rock replied.

Shazam is expected to be released in April 5, 2019.
