Bibbidi-Bobbidi-Boo! Disney's Cinderella (1950) Finally Gets An Honest Trailer

The good folks at Screen Junkies have produced a new "Honest Trailer" for Disney's animated classic Cinderella (1950). Feels like the right time for it since a new live-action adaptation will land in theaters this weekend.

The 1950's animated film is considered by most to be the definitive version of Cinderella, but it wasn't the first film based on the French fairy tale "Cendrillon" by Charles Perrault. There were actually eleven Cinderella films made before Disney's. The first was Georges Méliès' 1899 film.

Screen Junkies new video shines a light on many of the Cinderella adaptations that came after the 1950 film as well as pointing out how outdated its view upon women in society was. Check it out in the video below.

The new Cinderella live-action film opens March 13.
