Sylvester Stallone’s Rocky is widely considered to be one of the greatest films of all time, but there’s still some scenes fans have never seen before. Stallone gave fans a look at one of these scenes in the form of a rare black-and-white photograph.
The photo shows Rocky Balboa sizing up a young boxer named Dipper Brown in the gym locker room. In the scene, the two share words then Rocky delivers a killer punch to his guts, dropping him to the floor.

The scene was cut from the film, but kept in the novelization, so fans have only had a vague idea of what it looked like.
You may be thinking “Why hasn’t the scene been included on a re-release of the film?” Well, most of the Rocky deleted scenes were burned by the studio, presumably by accident. That’s what makes this glimpse of Rocky history so special.

“Rare deleted scene from ROCKY,” Stallone captioned the shot. “Unfortunately the studio burned all THE OUT TAKES by accident and only a few pictures remain … This is the moment before ROCKY and knocks out DIPPER, ( played by the excellent Stan Shaw) who threatens him and took his locker! KEEP PUNCHING MY FRIENDS”
This wasn’t the only Rocky throwback Stallone shared recently.
He also posted a behind-the-scenes photo with the late Burgess Meredith, who played Mickey in the series.
He captioned the photo, “I love this guy and miss him very much. Yo Mickey!”
